Ken Jensen

Ken played one single show with the Show Business Giants, in 1991, and instantly became an integral part of the band. Jennye and Tom came to the Cruel Elephant in Vancouver one Saturday afternoon for an anniversary show. Ken, circumstances now obscure, was there and played with us and David P. Smith, on "Sugar Town", a Nancy Sinatra cover.

He didn't know the song; he'd never heard it. Lucky us there was a well-stocked jukebox in the room. He really did run up to it and, flush with coins, and selected "Sugar Town", which just happened to be there (a B-side in a Golden Great re-release series).

He sat there tapping his feet and got the idea at one listen. Thank God it's only two minutes long!

He ran back to the stage, got behind the house kit and that's how we started our portion of the show.

Shithead, another mug from DOA, played with us once, too. If you have a few moments I'll tell you about it. Oh, you don't? Too bad.

Ken died in a house fire in 1995.
